Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we starting another church?

Our mission is WIN, BUILD, SEND: Win people to Christ, Build the believer, and Send the good news to new people in new places. Our church plant reflects that last element. Our mother church (Cedarcreek Community Church in Eau Claire, WI) grew to a point where they were ready to SEND a team to share the good news in a new place.

We believe that God’s plan is to carry out his purpose in the world and in the lives of individuals through churches. Instead of growing one church to thousands of members, we prefer to start new churches to continue God’s work in new places and reach more people.

What are small groups?

We feel that small groups are one of the most important elements of Coulee Rock. A small group is usually 6-10 people who meet once a week for a couple of hours to talk about life and to grow closer to God. Some groups dive into the Bible and discuss chapters or verses, some groups read and discuss a book, and some groups just meet to talk about what is going on in their lives. No matter what kind of a group suits you, you’re sure to find support and a great way to take a break from life to spend time with some awesome people. Check out our Small Group page for information about the different groups you can join now!

What is Great Commission Churches?

Coulee Rock Community Church is associated with a movement of churches called Great Commission Churches. Great Commission’s name is from the “great commission” that Jesus gives in Matthew 28:19-20.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
