James 5

Psalm 62:5-8 says: Find rest, O my soul, in God alone, my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God, he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him for God is our refuge.

God is our rock, our refuge, our salvation and our fortress. We are people of the Rock, not because we're associated with Coulee Rock, but because we're God's people & He is the Rock! When I think of our church I think of us, as a family, sharing our Rock, described in Psalm 62, with the Coulee Region. Who of us doesn't need a refuge, salvation, and fortress we can depend on? When we find the true Rock, our natural reaction is to share our mighty rock with those we know & love!

Hello People of the Rock!

We have a big weekend planned. Tomorrow (Saturday 4/6/19) is our Spring Work Day from 8am-Noon. This is always a fun time getting our hands dirty & enjoying serving together! If you have brooms, rakes, pruning shears and garage brooms it would be helpful to bring them along. Our main goals are raking the lawn and leaf removal, sweeping the parking lot, cutting back brush, cleaning gutters and trimming trees. If there are enough people, we can also wash windows and scrub the foyer floor. We'll get together rain or shine! Doughnuts & friendship will be waiting :)

The thrift sale for WAFER is June 6-8 at Dave & Sandy Lennander's house (please note the date has changed). As you know, the calendar moves quickly this time of year so if you have items to donate you can begin setting them aside now!

This week we'll finish up the book of James by looking at James Chapter 5. I've really enjoyed walking through James and digging into a very practical discussion on how Christianity works or looks in the dirt of regular, everyday life. So don't miss the final chapter.
