Beloved Coulee Rockers -
The past couple of days have been awesome and challenging at the same time! I was able to attend our annual pastors conference with a few other Coulee Rock men, where the theme was becoming emotionally healthy.
It was very encouraging to think about BEING with Jesus compared to doing. This idea of being with Him is not something I've traditionally been strong at (compared to doing).
Here are a few things I've been noodling on as takeaways from the conference:
1. "What you do matters, Who you are matters more!"
2. "Our doing (with Christ) needs to flow out our being w/ Him."
3. We can only change what we are aware of.
4. Be the true you in Jesus!
This weekend we'll be teaching on Ananias & Sapphira. We will see how the Word shows us the importance of our heart condition and how what's in our heart (and flowing out of it) is much more important than our outward actions. I see many parallels with being emotionally healthy as we seek to grow spiritually. Our key verses are 1 John1:9-10.
I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow,
